"OAKVUE" IS LOVINGLY OWNED AND OPERATED BY ALAN & PAT DAKE

Initially starting in the sport of dogs as Obedience Trainers, Alan and Pat have helped thousands of dogs and handlers reach their goals.  This may be a well behaved pet or a competitive obedience dog.

Pat got her first Clumber Spaniel in 1980 and began a love affair with the breed that has lasted to this day.  "Three Oaks Cricket" was a rescue and  the love of her life.  Pat has shown numerous Clumber Spaniels to their AKC Championships including several of her own breeding.  All of Pat's Clumber Spaniels are AKC Obedience titled except for the youngest, which are on their way.  Along the way Pat has achieved three High in Obedience Trials, at Clumber Spaniel National Specialties, with three different dogs in three different classes.  Quite an accomplishment, not yet matched!

Alan started in dogs with a rescue Irish Setter "Chance" in 1978.  Alan was never breed loyal and enjoyed putting Obedience titles on rescues until he discovered Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs in 1995.  Alan was immediately attracted by their beauty and  temperament.  In 1997 "Trio" came home to Oakvue.  All Alan's Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs are AKC Champions and AKC Obedience titled.

Alan and Pat believe that it is just as important to prove Temperament and Trainability in the Obedience Ring as it is to demonstrate Breed Type and Style in Championship Competition with their Clumber Spaniels and Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs.
