YOUR TRAINERS

We are Alan and Pat Dake.  We have been training owners and their dogs for a combined total experience of 40 years.  We are American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluators.

We have worked with all breeds and mixed breeds.  We have worked with dogs as young as 10 weeks and as old as 9 years.  Dogs are never too young or old to learn.  We have worked with handlers as young as a 7 year old boy and as old as a 72 year old woman.  His Lab was bigger than him.  She had double hip replacement and was handling  90 pound Akita pup.  We have successfully worked with the physically challenged.   Like their dogs, handlers are seldom too young, old or challenged to start a training program.

Our training philosophy is simple.  Motivate whenever possible.  Correct only when absolutely necessary and then only to the extent necessary.  Our program sets up dogs and handlers to succeed.  Not all dogs and handlers are alike.  In our classes individual attention is given as needed.  Training at Oakvue is both rewarding and fun.  After all, what could be more rewarding than a trained dog? 

A well-trained dog is a credit to his owner and a joy to his family and friends!!!
